International Cheese Awards Press Release April 2018: Entries now open for ICA2018!

There are so many good things about April – sunny days, lighter evenings…and the chance to enter your dairy produce for the biggest and best cheese show in the world! Entries for this year’s show are now open, giving skilled cheesemakers in Britain and beyond the chance to showcase their best produce and have their skills recognised on a global stage.

Last year’s show was a real record-breaker, with 5685 entries of an exceptionally high standard from across the world, making victory all the sweeter for eventual Supreme Champion Cheese, Papillon Revelation, with judges commenting “Roquefort Papillon Revelation is a stunning product, combining a sharp, tangy ‘blue’ flavour with a creamy texture”.

So 2017 was a year for blue cheese – but who will triumph in 2018? With over 400 British and International classes, there’s room for all types of cheese and dairy, and with new and extended categories this year including the Cheese Accompaniments Awards and the Retailer Awards, ICA2018 is more inclusive than ever before. From the artisanal producers handmaking tiny batches of cheese to the major retailers making quality dairy produce more accessible than ever before, there is a category to recognise and reward every talent.

The International Cheese Awards is a Registered Charity and our main aim is to showcase the very best cheese from the UK and Internationally and to promote Cheesemakers, Retailers, and Service Companies to the dairy products industry. Entries are judged by some of the dairy industry’s foremost experts, with all winners earning the right to display our internationally-renowned badge on their produce and marketing to mark the fact they’ve been recognised as the very best there is.
