International Cheese Awards Press Release September 2015: Celebrating Some Great Press Coverage for ICA 2015!

What have they been saying about ICA 2015?

Every year we’re truly grateful to all the press who turn up in Nantwich to cover the show and spread the word about how amazing the International Cheese Awards really are. This year was no exception, with representatives from newspapers, magazines, websites, TV & radio stations and some of the region’s best known food bloggers paying us a visit. Here’s what some of them had to say…

“A cheese lover’s paradise…The cheese awards cover literally every type of cheese imaginable. From nutty matured parmesans, to heady blues and right through to child faves (and let’s face it grown ups like ‘em too) such as Babybel. It’s not about being a cheese snob; it’s about the whole industry coming together and celebrating what they do.” (Claire Thomas, Good Egg Foodie)

“If you love cheese as much as I do there’s no better place to be in July than the Nantwich Show…The event proved a massive success once again and I had a great day. The date for next year’s show became the first in my 2016 diary having already been announced as 26th/27th July, with over 11 months to go I’m already getting giddy thinking about all that cheese.” (Shaun Barnes, Food Geek blog)

“It was an incredibly memorable day. I became a cheese judge (with badge to prove it), I met some delicious cheeses and I made some new friends. Here’s to next year’s awards –sláinte!” (Jane Arschavir. Hodge Podge Days blog)

As usual we were well supported by the local press. The Crewe Chronicle and its sister publications gave us excellent coverage, including an interview with our chairman Bruce Macdonald. He told them “It’s even bigger and wouldn’t be possible without the huge commitment from everyone involved – from the volunteers and the entrants themselves to the judges, the committee and the people who manage the trade stands. The commitment is absolutely staggering, and there are a lot of cheesemakers out there that we still need to make aware of the show.”

The Manchester Evening News sent along a photographer and ran a whole gallery of fantastic photos – don’t forget you can also see a selection of our own photos on our website. The photo you see here is of Maxine Mallen from Radio Stoke interviewing one of our celebrity chefs James Martin in the press tent on Show Day.

It’s impossible to quote everybody here, but remember you can find links to our press coverage via the Media page on our website at If I’ve missed a story you would like including on the website then please drop me an email at the address below.
